LA CITTA' E IL DESIDERIO

- In due modi si raggiunge Despina: per nave o per cammello. La città si presenta differente a chi viene da terra e a chi dal mare. (Italo Calvino, Le città invisibili) -

Una città assume forme diverse non solo in base agli umori e agli occhi di chi la guarda, ma anche a seconda dei mezzi di trasporto che ad essa la conducono.Mentre Claudia è arrivata in treno ed Eva in macchina, Laurina Paperina e i suoi supereroi sono atterrati dal cielo, sorvolando il mare e le fumanti ciminiere, osservando e invadendo per un'intera giornata ogni angolo della città. Personaggi monfalconesi famosi come Elisa, Gino Paoli, Paolo Rossi, Mauro Pellaschier e Stefano Zoff si sono trasformati, grazie alla magica mano del capitano The Amazing Pape, in supereroi venuti a riscattare la loro città dai mali che la opprimono, cercando di proteggerla dai pericoli interni ed esterni.In loro aiuto sono sopraggiunti il forzuto Robin, alle prese con un piccione viaggiatore, bloccato mentre si accingeva a superare la zona invalicabile della Fincantieri, l'avvenente Wonder Woman, chiamata per ritrovare e riportare a casa ‘Gighen', il buffo cane smarritosi nelle borgate della periferia monfalconese e molti altri goffi e imbranati eroi - gli Spastic-Heroes -, frutto della fantasia dell'artista.Laurina ama giocare con l'arte e ironizzare sulla realtà, dare vita a sketch fumettistici popolati da improbabili supereroi che sono sempre stati simbolo di speranza, vittoria e giustizia per l'uomo qualunque. Personaggi in cui noi tutti, almeno per una volta, ci siamo rispecchiati e che ci hanno aiutato a vincere le paure facendoci diventare più forti e coraggiosi nei confronti delle prove che la vita quotidianamente ci sottopone.Il supereroe come metafora. Monfalcone come la Cartoonia di Chi ha incastrato Roger Rabbit? , dove cartoni animati vivono una vita propria, interagiscono fra loro e con gli essere umani. Monfalcone come esempio per tutti quei contesti e quelle situazioni incapaci di far dialogare fra loro culture e identità diverse.

- Il futuro delle forme è sterminato: finché ogni forma non avrà trovato la sua città, nuove città continueranno a nascere. Dove le forme esauriscono le loro variazioni e si disfano, comincia la fine della città. (Italo Calvino, Le città invisibili) -

THE CITY AND THE WISH

- There are two ways to reach Despina: by ship or by camel. The city changes depending on whether you arrive by land or by sea. (Italo Calvino, The invisible cities) -

A city assumes different shapes not only based on the mood and the eyes of who is looking at it but also on the forms of transport that take you there. Whilst Claudia came by train and Eva by car, Laurina Paperina and her superheroes came down from the sky, flying over the sea and the smoking chimney tops, observing and invading, for an entire day, every corner of the city. Famous characters from Monfalcone like Elisa, Gino Paoli, Paolo Rossi, Mauro Pellaschier and Stefano Zoff have been transformed, thanks to the magic hand of their captain The Amazing Pape into superheroes that have some down to save their city from its oppressing evils, saving it from internal and external dangers.They have joined forces with the mighty Robin, wrestling with a migrating pigeon, blocked as he was trying to cross the uncrossable Fincanieri zone and the lovely Wonder Woman, called out to find and bring ‘Gighen' back home, the funny dog who has got lost in Monfalcone suburbia and a host of other clumsy and awkward heroes who are fruit of the artist's imagination.Laurina loves to play with art and ironize reality, giving life to cartoon strips full of improbably superheroes who have always been a symbol of hope for any man. People who await justice find themselves reflected in these characters, characters who have helped them overcome their fears and made them stronger and braver when dealing with life's little tests. The Superhero is the symbol of justice, victory and hope. This is especially relevant here.Monfalcone is like the Cartoon Who framed Roger Rabbit? , where cartoon characters come to life and interact not only with each other but also humans. Monfalcone is an example of all those situations in which it is impossible to get different cultures and identities to communicate with each other.
